The Poor Image

The Poor Image was done as an abstraction for my final project during my double master’s. I created a steel box with one hole in the side. The hole had a magnifying glass and inside of the box were brightly lit daffodils. The light from the daffodils reflected and went through the magnifying glass onto the wall creating an inverted distorted reflection. The reflection, this poor image, is a representation of the way I think about designing technology; we glorify current images of technology, always asking for more without addressing the problems that many people face. How can technology be distributed, understood and made accessible to people, so that the benefits of all the new technology today (and there are so many) can be utilised by all?
